WYANGALA DAM
Wyangala Waters State Park is the perfect location for that weekend away, family holiday as well as a great place to relax and unwind. Wyangala is located a short drive from Cowra at the junction of the Lachlan and Abercrombie Rivers.
The lake is a clean, clear vast expanse of water with the surrounding area offering excellent accommodation and camping facilities. Dogs are welcome but need to be on a lead at all times.
Hot showers, fuel, bait, ice, EFTPOS and the nearby Wyangala Country Club and Bistro will ensure visitors have everything they need, right at their fingertips.

ACCOMMODATION
There are bungalows, cottages, cabins, on-site vans and even a couple of houseboats for those seeking accommodation under cover. For campers there are plenty of grassy campsites either powered or unpowered and even a backwaters camping area for the more adventurous. There are also powered caravan sites.
ACTIVITIES
There are many activities available at the Park including; power boating, canoeing, sailing, water-slides, boat hire, fishing licences, golf courses, canoe hire, walking trails, childrens playgrounds and sandy beaches for just relaxing on.
For the fisherman, you can expect to catch Trout, Silver Perch, Yellow Belly, Cat Fish, Murray Cod and more.
Day visitors are also welcome, there are excellent picnic and bar-be-que facilities.

* The surface area of the dam is two and a half times the size of Sydney Harbour * The capacity of the dam is 1,217,600 mega litres * The catchment area is 828,800 hectares * The length of the wall is 1,510 metres * Work on the first dam commenced in 1928
A second dam was proposed to increase the storage capacity for irrigation. Work commenced in 1961 and was completed in 1971.
HOW TO GET THERE
From Sydney - head to Cowra going through the Blue Mountains and Bathurst. 21kms from Cowra turn left onto Reg Hailstone Way, going through the village of Woodstock. After 32kms turn left into the Park. (3.5 hours approx)
From Canberra - head to Cowra going past Yass and turning off the Hume Highway onto the Lachlan Valley Way going through Boorowa and then to Cowra.
From Cowra - drive up Kendal St (the Main St) heading to Sydney, take the second turn on the right after the second set of lights at Fitzroy St. Turn left at Brougham St, go over the railway line and keep going for approx 41 kms, driving through the village of Darbys Falls. Drive over the dam wall with entry to Park on your right.
