THE MAKERS

La Barre Olives

La Barre produces olives on two farms with very different climates and growing conditions. (Yass and Billimari in the Cowra shire) The different locations produce olives with a great variety of attributes allowing La Barre the opportunity to produce Australian olive oils with specific qualities and flavours

The world famous Professor Giuseppe Fontanaza of Italian Institute of Olive Production identified Billimari as being very similar to central Sicily an area famous throughout history for making some of the best oils in the world. Oils from Billimari tend to be sweeter with intense fresh fragrances.

Rosnay Organic Farm & Vineyard

Rosnay was created by the Statham family in 1997, and produces certified organic wines, olives, and figs. Rosnay is an organic farm that was planned and created by the Statham family in 1995-1997, and which is now a part of Rivers Road Organic Farms.

Wallington Winery

Wallington’s wines are made on site in the unusual and handsome Straw Bale Winery. Wallington Wines focus on producing small batches of carefully blended handpicked wines such as Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Semillon and Chardonnay with a touch of Viognier. These wines are carefully crafted with the winemaker embracing the principals of organic and biodynamic agriculture.

Explore the vineyards and surrounding farms whilst learning how wines are produced at the estate, followed by a delicious wine tasting. Sample more than 10 different wines and swap notes on their flavours and other characteristics with your wine host. Your trip then ends with a drop-off back at the Cowra Visitor Information Centre.
